Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ride Director (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Ride Director is an audio-first cycling companion app that provides AI-generated sports commentary, ghost race challenges, and team radio functionality through AirPods during cycling rides.

3. Account Registration

  • You may sign in using Sign in with Apple.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must be at least 17 years old to use the App.
  • You may join group rides without registration using an invite link and display name.

4. Subscription Terms

Free Tier

  • 3 rides per week
  • Basic AI commentary
  • Unlimited self-ghost
  • 1 friend challenge per week
  • Strava auto-upload

Pro Subscription

  • $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year
  • Unlimited rides, Team Radio, full segment commentary, unlimited Ghost challenges, Highlight Clips
  • Billed through Apple App Store
  • Auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the App while operating a motor vehicle
  • Use the App in a manner that endangers yourself or others
  • Interfere with other users’ experience
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Share or distribute Ghost track data for commercial purposes
  • Create fake accounts or abuse the challenge system

6. Safety Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Ride Director is an entertainment and information tool. It is NOT a safety device.

  • Always prioritize road awareness over audio commentary
  • The App does not replace proper cycling safety equipment or practices
  • AI commentary is generated algorithmically and may contain errors
  • GPS accuracy varies and should not be relied upon for precise positioning
  • You are solely responsible for your safety while cycling

7. AI Commentary Disclaimer

  • AI-generated commentary is for entertainment and information purposes only
  • The AI is a sports commentator, not a coach — it does not provide training or health advice
  • Broadcast content is algorithmically generated and may occasionally be inaccurate
  • Heart rate zone announcements are informational and do not constitute medical advice

8. Intellectual Property

  • Ride Director and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by us
  • You retain ownership of your ride data
  • Ghost tracks you share are licensed to us for the purpose of enabling Ghost Race challenges

9. Third-Party Services

  • Strava integration is subject to Strava’s own terms of service
  • Apple services are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions
  • We are not responsible for third-party service availability or changes

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses arising from your use of the App
  • We are not liable for GPS inaccuracies, connectivity failures, or commentary errors
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Pro subscription in the preceding 12 months

11. Termination

  • You may stop using the App at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
